Brief History
Parama Poojya Swami Chinmayanandaji, a visionary of great depth and a contemporary ascetic, embarked on the realization of his noble aspiration by establishing a network of Chinmaya Vidyalayas across India. His goal was to shape a promising future for the citizens of an independent nation by blending India’s rich cultural values with modern scientific perspectives, and these Chinmaya Vidyalayas have consistently strived to achieve educational excellence through this integrated approach.
Chinmaya Vidyalaya started formerly Pre KG in the year 1975 and then in 1981 Department was granted permission to start 1st Std. The foundation stone for Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Jayalakshmipuram was laid by the great visionary his holiness Swami Chinmayananadaji on 14th March 1981.
With a strength of 28 students, 5 faculty members the school started functioning. The silver Jubilee celebrations of the school were held in the year 2000. His Holiness Swami Tejomayananadaji, Head, Chinmaya Mission worldwide graced the occasion and blessed the gathering, for several years. The Vidyalaya gave an excellent and long standing academic record.
We aim at the inner transformation of students through Getha Gyana Yagna and other spiritual practices and service to society. We have state Government syllabus and is an English medium school. ‘AIM TO EXCEL’ is our motto. Ours is a school with a difference. Our teachers have a spiritual balance and we spread it thoroughly in the classroom.
